Mr. David W. Brining, IAAI-CFI
Investigator

Investigator Brining has been employed at Pyr-Tech since 2002. He retired as Captain/Chief Fire Investigator from the Martinsburg Fire Department in 2007, after 31 years of service to the community. He has since joined the Bedington Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to fire service, Brining was the Berkley County Medical Examiner for over 20 years. His experience and credibility have resulted in over 25 instances where he has been utilized as an expert witness for court testimony. Brining was awarded "Investigator of the Year" in 2006 from Pyr-Tech and "Officer of the Year" in 1997 from the Berkley County Crime Solvers, among various other honors. He was the President of the West Virginia Chapter IAAI in 1998 and later appointed to the IAAI Board of Directors in 2004.

Mr. Mark E. Hanson, IAAI-CFI
Investigator

Investigator Hanson has been employed at Pyr-Tech since 2003. Hanson retired from the Sioux City Fire Department after 30 years of service. During his time at the fire department, he was appointed as the Sioux City Fire Marshal and served as Chief Instructor for origin and cause.

Hanson has received Certificates of Appreciation from the Iowa State Fire Marshal, Wayne State College in Nebraska and the Iowa Chapter IAAI. He served six years on the Iowa Chapter IAAI Board, from 2000 through 2006. Hanson also served in the U.S. Army from 1968 through 1969 in Vietnam as a Bomb Tech and Squad Leader.

Mr. Gregory D. Hoover, IAAI-CFI
Investigator

Investigator Hoover began his 13 year career at the Martinsburg Fire Department in Martinsburg, West Virginia in 1995. He joined Pyr-Tech, Inc. in 2003 as an Intern Investigator. The following year, Hoover would earn his IAAI-CFI and become an Investigator at Pyr-Tech.

From 2002 through 2005, Hoover was a Medical Examiner for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Charleston, West Virginia. In 2007, he earned his Associates Degree in Fire Science at Mountain State University. He was also named Chief Fire Investigator at the Martinsburg Fire Department that year.

Mr. Randy Loucks II, IAAI-CFI

Investigator Loucks began working with Pyr-Tech, Inc. in 2005 as an intern investigator.  During his time as an intern, Loucks attended over 220 fire investigations and was an Assistant Evidence Technician before earning his IAAI-CFI in 2010.


Loucks' interest in the fire science field began in 1991 when he became a member of the Hollywood Heights Fire Department. He held the positions of Lieutenant, Captain, and Fire Marshal and in 2008 was promoted to Assistant Chief.

In addition to being a Certified Fire Investigator by the International Association of Arson Investigators and the Pro-Board, Loucks earned his Certified Fire Investigator through the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal in 2005.

Investigator Loucks works out of our Corporate Office in Collinsville, Illinois and is a member of the Illinois and Missouri Chapters of the IAAI.  He regularly attends training and meetings of the National Society of Professional Insurance Investigators, St. Louis Claims, and seminars by the IAAI.

Mr. Thomas D. O'Neill, IAAI-CFI
Investigator


O'Neill started his career at Pyr-Tech in August of 2003 as an Intern Investigator.  Since that time, O'Neill has assisted over 300 fire investigations, was promoted to Evidence Technician in 2006, then Investigator in 2009, and has coordinated investigations in both criminal and civil venues.  The Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal awarded O'Neill with Certified Fire Investigator accreditation in 2007 and he earned IAAI-CFI Certification in 2009.  He was awarded Pyr-Tech "Employee of the Year" in 2006.

O'Neill is also currently a Firefighter/Paramedic for the Granite City Fire Department and became the first probationary firefighter in the department's history to be added to the Fire Investigation Team shortly after being hired.

Mr. Michael W. Presson, IAAI-CFI
Investigator

Investigator Presson first started with Pyr-Tech, Inc. in 1995 as an Intern Investigator before earning IAAI-CFI accreditation in 2002.  Throughout this time, he assisted in over 400 origin and cause examinations and was promoted to Evidence Technician.  Investigator Presson left Pyr-Tech in 2002, only to return in 2006 as a full-time origin and cause investigator.  Mike has testified as an expert witness in both State and Federal courts.

Besides his IAAI-CFI, he also is a Certified Fire Investigator through the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal, and the Pro-Board.  Investigator Presson is a Certified Fire Services Instructor I, and is certified to the Hazardous Materials Operations level.

Investigator Presson started his fire service career with the Cahokia Volunteer Fire Department in 1994.  By 1996, he was awarded "Firefighter of the Year".  Investigator Presson has served numerous roles in the fire department including Investigator, Instructor, Lieutenant, Captain and Assistant Chief.  As Chief Investigator, the Cahokia Fire Investigation Unit received an "Award of Recognition" from the IAAI after an origin and cause investigation led to the conviction of an individual guilty of burglary and arson.

Investigator Presson received an Honorable Discharge from the United State Marine Corps Reserves after serving from 1993 to 2001.

Investigator Presson works out of our Corporate Office in Collinsville, Illinois and is a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators, National Society of Professional Insurance Investigators, the Honorable Order of the Blue Goose, Arkansas Adjusters Association and the Illinois Society of Fire Service Instructors.

Mr. Allen T. Reyne, IAAI-CFI
Investigator

Investigator Reyne has been an employee at Pyr-Tech for over 10 years. Reyne began his career as an intern investigator in 1998. In 2002, he earned his IAAI-CFI and soon became a full-time investigator at Pyr-Tech. Reyne was awarded "Investigator of the Year" in 2004.

Reyne was a firefighter for the Godfrey, Illinois Fire Department for ten years before moving to Springfield, Illinois. He has been a firefighter for the Springfield Fire Department for the last nine years. He earned his Associates Degree in Fire Science from Lewis and Clark Community College.

Mr. David D. Schrock, IAAI-CFI
Investigator

Investigator Schrock was first employed at Pyr-Tech in June 2000 as an intern-investigator. He took a leave of absence in 2003 when he accepted the position of Fire Investigator with the Moline Fire Department. A later reassignment allowed him to return to Pyr-Tech and he was soon promoted to Investigator.
In addition to being an IAAI Certified Fire Investigator, Schrock is a State Certified Arson Investigator and a Paramedic. He is currently working toward his Bachelor of Arts Degree at Western Illinois University.

Investigator Schrock works out of the Milan, Illinois (Quad Cities) area.

Mr. Chad R. Toeniskoetter, IAAI-CFI
Investigator

Investigator Toeniskoetter resides in Granite City, Illinois with his wife and two children. He has been a firefighter for the Granite City Fire Department since 1995. He is also a career paramedic and a Juvenile Fire Intervention Specialist/Instructor. In 2002, he was awarded "Firefighter of the Year" at the Masonic Lodge in Granite City, Illinois.

Toeniskoetter has been employed at Pyr-Tech, Inc. since 2002 as a IAAI-CFI Certified Investigator. He earned his CFI from the State of Illinois in 2001 and earned his IAAI-CFI in 2002. While at Pyr-Tech, he has been called as an expert witness for court testimony and investigated over 300 fire scenes.

Mr. Jeffrey D. Watkins, IAAI-CFI
Investigator

Investigator Watkins began his career in fire suppression at the Sauget Fire Department in 1999. In 2001, he was employed at Pyr-Tech as an Intern Investigator. Investigator Watkins continued his education in fire investigation until ultimately earning his IAAI-CFI Certification in August, 2006 and he was promoted to Investigator at Pyr-Tech.  Watkins also attended classes through Illinois State University to attain the titles of Fire Investigator and Arson Investigator from the Illinois State Fire Marshal.

Investigator Watkins continues his fire related experience through seminars, in-house training and fire scene investigations. He currently resides in Glen Carbon with his wife, Sarah Watkins, and is a firefighter and peace officer for the Sauget Fire Department. He was promoted to Captain of his department in 2009.
